Sharing his work experience on the film Wonka, a prequel to Charlie and the chocolate factory, Chalamet told the magazine: “It’s a celebration of being off-center and okay with the weirder parts of you that don’t quite fit in.”
Chalamet, who is known for his androgynous style, also spoke of his perception of masculinity – “more sensitive, more emotional, in keeping with his generation’s permissive attitudes on self-expression,” the magazine mentions.
Chalamet also wishes to use its platform as a public figure in a responsible manner. “He wants to use his platform in a thoughtful way, to get the right kinds of messages out across the world, whether it’s mental health awareness, a topic he wants to see become ‘less of a sharing. Instagram slides and something more intrinsic, “or climate,” the magazine writes.
