The Poligof group obtains the ISCC Plus certification – Magazine of the non-woven industry

by Poligof The Mira plant has obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certificate (ISCC) Plus accreditation. Certification of the Mira plant (the largest in the Group) will be followed by all other Poligof plants in Italy, Russia, India and Mexico.

ISCC is a globally applicable sustainability certification system, covering all sustainable raw materials, including agricultural and forestry biomass, circular materials and renewable energies, on a mass balance basis. Mass balance is an accepted and certified protocol that documents and tracks sustainable content from the supplier through to final delivery to customers.

The traceability of organic and biocircular raw materials is guaranteed throughout the supply chain by third-party auditors and strict controls of incoming / outgoing materials at each stage.

Poligof films and laminates from the bio and biocircular economy are called PoliBLUE and include breathable and non-breathable films and laminates for backsheet, single wrap films and also printed.

During the manufacturing process, a sustainable raw material is mixed with a raw material of fossil origin to create films and laminates that can be processed just like standard materials (instant solution).

Poligof has secured the upstream supply of circular and biocircular raw materials thanks to an exclusive agreement for the hygiene market with a main supplier of ISCC Plus certified polyolefins.

“Thanks to PoliBLUE products, Poligof will be in a privileged position to reduce GHG emissions and the use of petroleum sources, allowing AHP manufacturers to offer a green material and to avoid or mitigate future taxes on fossil materials ”, comments Fabrizio D’Amico, Commercial Director, Poligof Group.
