Sunderland Restaurant Week – An opportunity for foodies to sample multiple cuisines – Sunderland Magazine

The menu is filling up for the return of Sunderland Restaurant Week, with the opportunity for foodies to sample a multitude of cuisines at a great price.

Hosted by Sunderland BID, the event kicks off this Saturday (September 25) and runs through Sunday October 3, showcasing the best pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants the city has to offer.

And with each participating location offering a special offer that allows diners to enjoy £ 5, £ 10 or £ 15, the hope is that it will draw people to their old favorites or get them to try a new location.

For the first time, the event will feature some of the city’s newest restaurants, including Spent Grain, Proven People, Street Bar SR1, and Café 1851.

Fans from the Far East can take advantage of offers at Asiana, Royale Thai and House of Zen in Seaburn or anyone who prefers Mediterranean flavors can take advantage of the offer at ENFES and Acropolis Street Food at STACK Seaburn.

Other favorites include Best Burger Restaurant, 2 Church Lane, popular 808 Bar and Kitchen, The Looking Glass, The Old Vestry, Port of Call and Grill, and Chill.

Not to be outdone, many of the city’s top pubs, also renowned for their cuisine, have signed up, which is great news for anyone who enjoys visiting Ttonic, Victors, Gatsby and The Rabbit.

Participants can also go out and visit the Sunderland Bowl which has a special food offer, as does the downtown grocery store, The Fat Unicorn.

And the favorites of the day, including the Chocolat at the Bridges Hotel, Laywawa’s Café and Crumb On In at the Harrison and Brown furniture store, have created their specials for the week.

“Restaurant week is always very popular and was a huge failure during the various blockages last year” said Sharon Appleby, Managing Director of Sunderland BID.

“We are absolutely thrilled that it is back and to have so many fantastic restaurants, some for the very first time.

“We hope people take full advantage of the opportunity to eat in good places and also help boost the local economy at the same time.”
