Montalvo, an international specialist in web tension control, has hired Steve Franklin as the new director of engineering. Franklin will oversee Montalvo’s electrical, mechanical and automation engineering teams, lead the development of new products, custom products and larger-scale projects, while improving processes and expanding the overall engineering capabilities of the company.

Franklin has over 25 years of experience as an engineer and 14 years as an engineering manager for a global automation supplier, where he oversaw the execution of procedures and processes in which engineering is involved and encouraged the changes that make the company more flexible, competitive and quality conscious. Franklin holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
