Jason’s sister denounces Molly’s “baseless lies” following US magazine article

Jason Corbett’s sister, Tracey Lynch, has spoken out against allegations that Molly Martens made secret tapes that purport to reveal domestic violence at the hands of her brother before he was killed at home.

Ms Lynch said she wanted to hear the “unedited full version” of the tapes, especially from the bedroom on the night of her murder.

The shocking claims that Ms Martens uses hidden devices for secret recordings are detailed in a recent article published in Elle magazine.

Molly Martens and her father Thomas Martens were jailed in 2015 for killing Limerick man Jason Corbett at Molly and Jason’s home in North Carolina. The North Carolina Supreme Court this month ordered a new trial to allow the Martens to “fully and fairly represent their cases.”

Jason’s sister, Tracey – who now looks after Jason’s children in Limerick – fired back yesterday at the “edited tape recording”.

“We look forward to hearing the full, unedited version of this tape if it has not been ‘destroyed or lost’ like the other tapes Molly claims to have,” she told The Irish Mail on Sunday. . “Molly had placed recording devices all over the house, including the bedroom where Jason was killed. She planted these devices because Jason was planning to move to Ireland with her children and she would stop at nothing to get custody of the children.

“We know there were recording devices in the bedroom, so isn’t it strange that Molly didn’t produce the recording for the night of August 2, 2015?” Surely this recording would be the best witness of all of what really happened that night. ‘

Jason’s sister also challenged the entire article in the American magazine. ‘She begins her article by asking, “What happens when an allegation puts domestic violence in the harsh light of public scrutiny, especially when people are not always what they appear to be?” Mrs. Lynch said. “I can answer that from the perspective of Jason’s orphaned children. What happens is the kids see their loving father’s character destroyed by the baseless lies of a whimsical girl struggling with forensic evidence that she killed her husband.

Molly herself admitted in the Elle article to having lied throughout her life and possibly having a “problem” with the truth. “What is happening is that publications like Elle are overly interested in the baseless claims of a photogenic, white, middle-class girl and her wealthy father, a former FBI agent, and propels them into “the harsh light of public scrutiny.” One wonders, if Molly looked any different, or wasn’t so well funded and privileged, Would she be so easily interested in his lies, without talk about presenting them as fact? Molly’s claims are the lies of a fanciful.

“The detectives who attended the crime scene all found this to be totally inconsistent with the self-defense claim that Tom and Molly Martens were making. Detectives and the emergency response team noted that Jason’s body was cold and asked how long the Martens had waited before calling 911. They also noted that there was no scores on either Tom or Molly Martens despite their alleged prolonged struggle with a 6-foot, 260-pound man. ‘

Ms Lynch said: “White lies are always lies. And Molly Martens’ lies go way beyond white lies

Ms Lynch said: “White lies are always lies. And Molly Martens’ lies go far beyond white lies – they deliberately seek to destroy the good reputation of a good man, against whom detectives have been unable to find any evidence to support Molly’s convenient theories of domestic violence.

She said, “She’s right when she says ‘people aren’t always what they seem to be.’ Jason isn’t here to show you who he really is. But I am and his family are. Her children are. We are devastated that we have to relive it all. She added, “All we have are our memories now. Jason is not entitled to a new trial for life.

“The final decision on a new trial rests with the Davidson County District Attorney in North Carolina. He is expected to make a decision in the coming weeks that will also determine whether Molly and her father will be released on bail.

“We don’t know what the prosecutor will decide,” Ms. Lynch said. “But we put our trust in him and his team. They give Jason a voice.

Speaking from the prospect of further recordings, Molly’s uncle Mike Earnest, who speaks on behalf of the Martens family, said authorities searched the house after the murder.

“I have absolutely no knowledge of a recording for the night in question. If there had been any evidence of recording devices at the time, they would have found it.
