INDEX 2020 Attracts Thousands of People – Nonwovens Industry Magazine
INDEX20, the world’s largest nonwovens trade fair, which took place in Geneva from October 19 to 22, 2021, ended with a resounding success, with more than 500 exhibitors in more than 45,000 square meters of space. exposure.
âWith over 9,300 visitor entries over the four days, and an overwhelming feeling among exhibitors of unexpected attendance and quality from key decision makers around the world, everyone we met tells us itâs is undoubtedly a resounding success under the circumstances â, explains Pierre Wiertz, CEO of EDANA.
After a record year for the production of nonwovens in Greater Europe, with growth of 7.2% in 2020 to reach 3,075,615 tonnes (largely due to the highest demand ever recorded for the materials used intensively to tackle the pandemic), this was the first opportunity in four years for the professional community across the supply chain to meet in person.
The number of visitors is all the more remarkable as more than a thousand additional professionals have joined the online version of INDEX â¢, as the show was presented for the first time in a hybrid format, allowing exhibitors to parade in live with virtual booths showcasing their products and services. The virtual platform will remain accessible until November 15 to allow all on-site and virtual participants to view the content of the six sectoral seminars (Sustainability, Filtration, Geosynthetics, Transport, Smart Nonwovens and Infection Prevention) as well as the content provided by all. Exhibitors.
“We are delighted to see that this ‘augmented reality’ offer has been so well received, and since the Swapcard platform that supported it will remain accessible to 2,500 pre-registered delegates for several weeks, as well as to any other new visitor, we hope that those who missed the many side events such as the six sectoral seminars, or who wish to extend their contacts with exhibitors, will continue to benefit from INDEX in an innovative way â, declares Magali Fakhry Dufresne, director of the INDEX ⢠fair, PALEXPO.
âOur business contacts at INDEX are generally long-term relationships and contracts, with additional new opportunities a plus; for this edition, it was all about meeting face-to-face business partners again after so many video calls, and the good surprise is that overall the result has exceeded our expectations. The level of engagement and the quality of visitors make INDEX an essential business development tool for industry players of all sizes, it remains the flagship trade fair for the nonwovens industry, âsaid Mikael Staal Axelsen, CEO of Fibertex Nonwovens.
After this inspiring edition, we look forward to welcoming the entire industry to Geneva in 18 months for INDEX23, which will run from April 18-21, 2023.
