From inauguration style star to cover girl.

Hours after making her runway debut for Proenza Schouler at New York Fashion Week, new IMG model Ella Emhoff landed her first magazine cover.

The 21 year old daughter-in-law of Vice President Kamala Harris and daughter of Doug Emhoff Berlin art and fashion facades Dust’s Spring 2021wearing a pastel patchwork knit jacket of her own design.

During her shoot, the Parsons student and so-called “first daughter of Bushwick” also sported designers from brands including Balenciaga, Prada and Miu Miu, while posing at a Brooklyn studio where she once worked.

In the accompanying interview, which was conducted by artist Marina Abramovic on Zoom, Emhoff spoke about his Joe Biden inauguration lookan embellished Miu Miu coat worn over a ruffled Batsheva dress.

“The choice was honestly very impulsive. Personally, I like the crossover between the old and the new. I love the doily type collars, I obviously love the knits, I love the tartans, I love the embroidery classics, and I wanted to make sure I stayed true to myself and kept that alive,” she explained.

The budding fashion designer, whose latest knitwear collection sold out in a few hours Thursday, also spoke about his love for the craft. “It’s almost a selfish act; a cathartic experience; my therapy,” she said of knitting.
