EDANA Appoints Murat Dogru Deputy General Manager – Nonwovens Industry Magazine

EDANA has appointed Murat Dogru as Deputy General Manager. He will succeed Pierre Wiertz who is retiring from his position as Chief Executive Officer on July 1, after 18 years in this position and 39 years at EDANA.

Dogru, 42, holds a master’s degree in advertising and communication and has more than 10 years of experience in association management through various management consultancy positions within MCI, after 5 years as director of advertising sales for The Economist. He is fluent in English and French, with an excellent command of Arabic and Turkish.

“My experience in managing associations, from the technological sectors to health, including companies of engineers, researchers and doctors, has given me a desire and a passion to meet the needs of members in environments rapidly evolving, Dogru said. “I very much look forward to learning from EDANA member companies and expert staff and building on the great assets and strengths of the association, to lead it through the turbulent times facing the industry, with the raw materials, energy and transportation costs, as well as regulatory and sustainability challenges.”

The EDANA Board of Directors also validated several ambitious projects in the areas of product stewardship, standardization, sustainability and promotion, and was presented with a report on membership levels. record (+31% in 3 years) and on the excellent success of EDANA training, publications and events in 2021, including INDEX™ 20 last October.
