Ecoriginals Diapers announces its expansion in the United States – Nonwovens Industry Magazine

Ecoorigens, the world’s first and only neutral plastic diapers and wipes company, has announced that its eco-friendly products are now available in the United States. Ecoriginals diapers are 90% plant-based and up to 40% more absorbent than standard disposable diapers. Combination Diaper Packs are now available in 10 sizes ranging from newborn (up to 5 lbs) to junior training pants (40 lbs +).

“Since 2011, Ecoriginals has been a must-have for Australian parents as they do their best to navigate parenting in an environmentally responsible way,” said Janice Clarke, CEO of Ecoriginals. “We’re excited to bring the cleanest, greenest diaper in the world to American parents and to do our part to reduce the waste created by disposable diapers and wipes.”

Design features of Ecoriginals diapers include:

  • Plantcell Technology: Moisture is trapped away from the skin in its innovative central core – soft and gentle on delicate skin
  • Dry Touch Protections: Natural dry touch layers protect against rashes and irritation
  • Breathable fibers: innovative design allows air circulation from the natural topsheet to the natural backsheet
  • Comfortable fit: rounded grip tabs, cotton blend waistband and comfortable stretch to conform to each baby’s body shape and avoid discomfort
  • 3D Leak Protection: Uniquely designed sides to prevent side spills and super-soft leg cuffs to comfortably fit small legs
  • Nice and cute on the socks: softness, kindness, dryness and comfort (not to mention style)

Each layer of Ecoriginals diapers is 100% plant-based, which means everything that touches baby’s skin is made from natural materials. There are only two small areas around the tongues and cuffs that are not yet 100% natural, but the brand is looking to design them by 2023, creating the very first 100% eco-friendly layer.

Ecoriginals wipes are 100% vegetable and fully compostable. The wipes are:

  • Made from soft and 100% natural bamboo
  • Designed to protect and promote healthy skin
  • Biodegradation in as little as three weeks
  • Made in New Zealand using renewable energy
  • No alcohol, no chlorine, no phthalates, no synthetic fragrances, no parabens and absolutely no bad guys

In an effort to take its eco-responsible practices to the next level, Ecoriginals diapers arrive packaged in 100% home compostable packaging. The brand’s handcrafted paper wrap with cornstarch liner is a world first, and the wrapper not only breaks down, but it’s also a wonderful worm food for avid home composters.
